Here it is: Northeast Ranger Tugs Rendezvous 2024, August 8-11, Essex, CT

When: Arrive any time after 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 8. Two days in port on Friday and Saturday. Depart before 11:00 AM on Sunday, August 11.

Where: Essex Island Marina, 11 Ferry Street, Essex, CT 06426 860-767-2483 GPS Coordinates: 41.3536724, -72.3844792

Details: Look forward to three days of meeting and getting to know fellow Ranger Tug owners, sharing experiences and checking out each other’s boats. The factory will again support the event. I’m trying to again arrange some seminars for boating related topics. The factory will also provide us with some SWAG. As long as we have more than 10 boats, we will have use of the Marina’s pavilion at no additional charge for our use for get togethers, activities, group meals if we wish, etc. I will probably provide some live musical entertainment at some point, as everyone seemed to enjoy it last year. Also working on some activities for the group. Stay tuned…..

Still have a lot of work to do, but am thinking of loosely following the format of other rendezvous events in which the first night is a cocktail hour and then a pot-luck/sharing dinner. Working on ideas I have for the second night dinner that we’d have together. The third night will be a dinner at a local restaurant. The dinner will be either fully or partially sponsored by the factory – depends on how many participants we have.

Area: A true boating retreat for rendezvous gatherings, yacht club festivities, waterfront weddings, and more. Quietly placed on its own 13-acre island, Safe Harbor Essex Island is a waterfront destination for locals and cruisers alike. Unwind by the oversized pool, enjoy a game of volleyball with family, or explore the vibrant village atmosphere in nearby Essex. Beautiful Hamburg Cove is just up the river and is a great place to anchor for the day. Essex Island Marina has two on site restaurants a pool, ship’s store, cable tv, wifi, clean heads and showers as well as laundry.

Marina and Dockage Reservations: Each tug owner will need to make his/her own reservations. Individuals can make reservations directly online at Dockwa.com and then searching for Safe Harbor Essex Island Marina.

IMPORTANT***: in order for the reservations to be accepted before March 4th they MUST indicated in the 'special requests' section that they are traveling with the rendezvous. IF they do not then the reservation will be assumed as a general public reservation and will be put on the waitlist until March 4th. The yard manager strongly urges all to make reservations prior to the March 4, deadline before the transient dockage is opened to the general public. That is the best way to guarantee a slip.

Pricing:
Dockage rate: $5.85 per foot
Electric rates: Single 30 amp ($18.00 per night)
Dual 30 amp ($35.00 per night)
50 amp ($38.00 per night)
Dual 50 amp ($75.00 per night)

Please e-mail me, Greg Zigmont at zigracer@aol.com once you have made your reservations and include your cell phone number, your boat model and name, as well as how many people on your crew, so I can get a head count.

Kara and I on JACKPOT II (R-31-CB) will be attending! We are booked in via Dockwa and looking forward to another good time like last year. We will be meeting up with the SOOKIE JIN outside of Stamford Harbor and heading up as a two boat flotilla!

Toto - Ranger 21 tug from LittleredTug.com will be going! Cant wait to meet up with other Tug owners - Jonathan

Greg Z... I own a 2019 Ranger Tug (SPIRIT) that we keep in Safe Harbor Yacht Haven Stamford. I don't think we will be able to make the trip by boat, but I was wondering if my wife I can drive up & possibly participate in some of the Ranger Tug events and/or dinner planned on the third night at Essex Island Marina. We probably will be staying a few nights in a hotel/motel nearby.
We also might want to discuss a possible rendezvous with those going back west down the Long Island Sound on Sunday/Monday and meet up at any of the great any of the great marina restaurants in Stamford Harbor Ct, City Island NY or Manhasset Bay LI.

New (to me) R31cb arriving Old Lyme Marina (Connecticut) this week... getting trucked down from North of Toronto presently. Some cosmetic work and light engine mtc first though... Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Boat soon to be named "Sweetie"...

Looking forward to meet up with other Ranger Tug tugs in the area!

Hi Greg! Apologies for not letting you know sooner but Dorothy and I are booked in at Safe Harbor Essex Island as well. Looking forward to it.

Nick, Sorry I missed this. Please contact me at zigracer@aol.com Thank you, Greg

Happy Place coming down from Newburyport. Headed to Scituate on Wednesday then looking for a mooring somewhere south of the Cape Cod canal for Thursday night....any recommendations? Planning on going through Woods Hole at 9:30 low slack tide.

My wife and I are looking forward to meeting other Ranger Tug owners at this year's event. We have recently purchased a 2012 R-27. KATHLEEN (was Gayle's Ferry) is a relatively significant change as we're downsizing from a Jefferson 43. Unfortunately, we have to come by car as the weekend is also my 60 reunion weekend (Branford High School). We will be back and forth for those events. We do plan to come on island around 10 on Friday morning and attend dinner Friday evening. Looking forward to meeting fellow/lady tugnuts.

Greg & Joyce… perfectly planned & executed. Loved it. The professional music (Greg !) was a nice touch.

I was very fortunate to have met all the wonderful Ranger & Cutwater people so early into buying my first real boat (RT-31cb) experience.

Learned tons. Garmin, Volvo and the Salem MA based Ranger dealership owners showed up and made excellent presentations and spent copious time on our individual boats answering questions and giving helpful tips.

It was my shakedown overnight stay and living on the boat for 3 days and nights proved very comfortable. Really glad I invested in the new TV and Weboost… watching Netflix whilst riding out some heavy winds and rain on my own boat was very cool.

Can’t wait until next year.

PS, “Toto” (21’ red RT from Mass) won my private “coolest boat” contest.

Just wanted to reinforce what the other said about this great event. Thank you, Gregg and everyone who put all the effort and time into hosting Ranger tugs on the East Coast. It was great to meet up with fellow owners. Although we were only there for a couple hours, we had a blast meeting up with everyone. I have a small video to put together for the event. I’ll be posting shortly.
