I am having trouble getting my wipers to park on the glass. The swing of the main arm that actually holds the blade can obviously be adjusted on the motor shaft. What I can't figure out is how to adjust the "pantograph" (right word?) rod that controls the angle of the blade relative to the main arm. It's the small (1/8 in diameter or so) round rod with a jam nut at the threaded top and a sort of compression tubing like fitting at the bottom. I have loosened the top jam nut, and turned the lower compression fitting thingy to the point where it has come loose and will slide up the rod. I can't turn the rod or move it at the bottom end, even though the fitting there is completely loose. Because of the jam nut at the top it seems as though the rod is supposed to turn, but it won't. Any ideas?

I also a problem with my wiper. It functions normally, the blade stays on the glass, then all of a sudden the blade starts swinging past the glass. any ideas?

Hi Larry, I saw your post awhile ago and although I've never had an issue with my wipers my curiosity got the best of me and I had to take a look. You may have this figured out by now but in case you don't, here is what I found.

On mine (2014 21EC) I backed off the bottom nut and the top locknut, same as you noted in your post. I could not rotate the adjustment rod with the bottom nut back completely off.

However, if you wiggle the adjustment rod and the bottom portion of the arm, the rod will slip out. The adjustment rod has a tapered compression fitting on it and the end of the rod is flattened out to prevent the compression fitting from sliding off.
With it separated and the top jam nut backed off, you can now rotate the rod as desired.

On mine the setup is like this:

Starboard window: Wiper blade sits vertically on the starboard side of the window. Measurement from centre to centre on Pivot Pins of the adjustment arm is 14-1/2".

Port Window: The Pin to Pin measurement is the same but the wiper blade sits on the port side of the window in resting place.

Middle Window: Pin to Pin measurement is 14" and the blade sits on the port side of the window in resting position.

If adjusting the arm is not enough to get it to sit where you want you may have to remove the entire assembly and move it a notch or two on the shaft. Again, on mine, there is a plastic cover at the bottom over the shaft area. You have to flip it up and expose an allen head set screw. Back off the set screw and if it's not seized on the shaft you should be able to get it off.

Hope this help.
