Trying to find the electrical path between the ECU and the i560. When I surveyed the boat the connection between the Yanmar and Garmin back bones worked. I could see all of the engine data on the Garmin display. When I picked up the boat all instrumentation went down. The problem turned out that water from around the external compass had got into both backbones. Did get both working but only if the backbones weren’t connected. The Yanmar failed on the way to our home port. Finally got the Yanmar backbone to work but only if the NEMA “T” wasn’t terminated. Several different technicians have tried but, still can’t get them to talk.
Seems to me that if the i560 isn’t terminated then when you connect them there is a terminator and it won’t work. My problem is trying to get documentation that shows the connectivity on my 2010 R29 tug. Has anyone traced this out?
BTW have talked with the local Yanmar dealer and Yanmar USA.
