It looks like my sonar module on the 7612xsv is bad. It is telling me the depth is anywhere from 12’ to 78’ deep in my slip. Which is from 7’ to 10’ deep. This is being reported the same on two different transducers. The original 199 shoot thru the hull and the transom mounted GT- 51. This is the second time the unit’s sonar module has gone bad. The first unit was replaced under warranty with a remanufactured unit a couple of years ago. I’ve updated the software for no change. This unit is no longer available from anyone that I could find. Replacing with an 8612 looks to be very difficult due to size differences. The 7612 being larger.
I’m thinking of going with a black box sonar module. I don’t have need of 1KW. Any suggestions?

I found that BOE Marine makes an adapter flange for the conversion. $105.
Now I just have to come up with another $4,100.
Or, find a place for a GSD-25. Not much room behind the dash.

You should have plenty of room to mount a sounder module in a C30, down in the cave, outboard, above the removable ceiling panel. That's where I have mine along with many more modules and equipment mounted.

The other (possibly better) option if you don't mind using only one sounder source would be to install a 743xsv into the dash and use it's internal sounder to feed out to the rest of your network (only one 12pin connector). Best part is it's really not much more than a GSD25 and you now have another display for anything, cameras, radar, sounder, and also have the new charts which will be shareable to the network.
