I have been told that Ladybug, Too is the sixth R-29 constructed. How can I access the A/C control panel on the unit. There are three fuses on the circuit board shown by Marvair. The A/C panels came up after my lightning strike and then I heard a fuse blowing when the A/C circulation pump went to ground. The pump is ok and I did a test run by direct connecting it at the factory splice. The insulation was burned on the hot and ground so the splice had to be repaired. I am thinking that that ground fault took out one or more of the fuses on the A/C unit.

Up Date R-29 Ladybug, Too

The main A/C panel is accessed through the "cave" by removing two screws in the monkey fuzz panel. The control box is right at the access and you can see the forward A/C controller on the starboard side. To get the panel screws off of the starboard side controller we removed the refrigerator and went through the opening below the refrigerator. The circulating pump relay is located next to the starboard controller and is also accessed below the refrigerator. It appears that both controller boards are fried and the Tech is not sure about the displays. Current was being received at the displays and in and out of the circiut boards but no control functions worked. There are no over current protection devices on either the displays or the controllers. The access is not as bad as it sounds and, would be easy in a colder climate but we toasted with outside temps near 94 F and god knows how hot below. Fans helped and, in the process I learned alot more about the R-29's innards. We found a few dead fiddler crabs in the bilge which accounted for a slight odor. I had thought it to be the holding tank but an up close sniff of a dead fiddler crab was conclusive. The Tecma chemicals are working!
