I had to have the fan assembly on the A/C replaced, and the technician commented that the power supply to the A/C was on even though the house battery switch was off. I've checked the owner's manual for the 21ec and cannot locate a master switch/circuit breaker for the A/C. The A/C battery bank must be fused some way, but I can't find it! Any help would be appreciated!

I do not have a 21 but on my R29 the AC runs on the 110 volt system not the batterys

Hi Todd,
The 21ec is set up all 12 volt, and the A/C unit is a MarvAir 5000 btu 12 volt model. Most 21ec's don't have 120 volt AC on-board. An extension cord plugs into the charger to charge the batteries and everything runs off 12 volts. This 21ec is unusual as it has 120 volt shorepower, but all it does is run the charger and power one outlet.

My DC air conditioner is wired directly to the 2 batteries in the back of the boat. When I asked the factory if there was a breaker or battery switch, they claimed there should have been, but neither are present on my 08 21EC. WJC

My 2013 21 EC has a breaker under the cup holder on the port side near the rear seat.

Thanks, all, for your help with this. Per Kenny at Ranger Tugs, the newer 21ec's have a breaker under the port cup holder near the rear seat. The older ones like mine (2008) don't have the breaker but are protected at the air-conditioning unit. It seems like a long run w/o a breaker near the batteries. Kenny was kind enough to offer to send a 40 amp breaker. I'll take him up on that and have it installed during winter layup.
