Hey all you PNW Tugnuts! I would like to introduce you to a brand new guide to cruising the BC coast. My friend and fellow Salt Spring Islander Amanda Spottiswoode wrote this book filled with tales of cruising the coast in their sailboat, South Islander, with their two Jack Russell Terriers, and my late mother was the editor!!
http://southislander.ca/

Not just for those who cruise with dogs, this is a beautifully illustrated book filled with tales of interesting places to visit, and maps of the best walks on shore from her favourite docks and anchorages. Those of you with fitbits will need this book to figure out how you are going to get those steps in while cruising the BC coast! The book is worth reading just for the lovely illustrated maps (much like the ones in Dreamspeaker) This book has a MSRP of $34.99 but it is available to my friends at the special Salt Spring Island rate of $29.99 plus shipping. It is also available electronically for your kindle or Nook, or to read on your Ipad.

If you would like a copy of this large format paperback book and are coming to Ganges with the Points North Cruise, or any other time, for that matter, please pm me and we can arrange for you to pick up your book here in Ganges and avoid the shipping charges. I had meant to show my copy around at the Fisherman's Terminal gathering but I forgot!!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions

Happy Cruising

Gail

Hi Gail,

With the new boat and so many of us wanting to visit with you at Fisherman's Terminal I can understand the book slipping off the radar 🙂

It sounds like an interesting book, and even more so knowing your mom was part of making it happen!

I would like to look at it while in Ganges. Is there a store over by the grocery that will be selling it?

Thanks,

It is for sale at Salt Spring Books which is next to the coffee shop on the main road at the corner of Lower Ganges Road and Mcphillips Ave.
