Hey friends, there is an AC wire running in the bundle in the port fore lazerette along the engine wall size that is cut. Does anyone know what that conductor would have been used for and where it might run in the boat?

The reason I ask as if it runs up to the captains chair breaker box, then I could probably use it for my new lithium battery charger.

Anyway, thought I would ask before I start the process of running a new wire or tracing the existing wire.

Thanks

First of all I will confess that I am not sure where exactly where you found this wire to no where. We had a 2015 R25 SC that was a very similar build to your R27 2015 inboard. We ordered our boat without air conditioning and there was wiring for it under the port side companion seat foot rest area (just forward of the microwave), which is where they installed the AC unit if you ordered that boat with AC. If I recall correctly that was a wire similar to what you have identified.

This may be wire installed for a generator that was not provided.

You might try asking the previous owner if possible.

Seems that is what it is, I pulled the panel at the captains seat and the fridge (sadly) to and can get to the wires.

In the mean time I discovered the head plug needs to be replaced - smoke when I plugged my heat gun into it

In the mean time I ran an extension cord through the lazerette to the plug in the nook and wired it into the plug. Surprised that it worked with out blowing anything…. (Yet) but this is just short term.

I may put an AC panel in the nook and just let the front panel run the ac outlets….

Anyway, that is the update

It was the generator power cable. I had to pull the panel and the fridge. Interesting the AC and the stove cables were lying on the deck below the fridge, but the generator was taped up behind the panel.

Also, interesting, if interesting can also be frustrating, there is a green and white ground/neutral bar that needs to be accessed by removing the v-berth panel. As some have seen my frustration at removing the panel you will know I had to be frustrated again

Anyway, I have power to the port fore lazerette now and can properly wire a a plug for the lithium charger.

As an aside note, while checking things I noticed the head outlet was acting funny - like is shorting. So I pulled and replaced it. I think I will replace all of the outlets now, as these house lets are cheap house outlets and are probably not rated to be in moist environments. Also, FYI, neither are the outlets sold by Marinco - I bought Anko.(?)

Just as a fiollow0up and a further question. The blue sea panel up front has some special labels tags for each breaker…..

What if anything is anyone doing to correctly label the panels- for future owners?

Thanks - dn
