The stateroom and cockpit speakers haven't worked on my R29 since we bought it. The problem doesn't appear to be with zone settings, so next up is checking for speaker connectivity/corrosion. It looks like there may be removable panels in the stateroom locker next to the TV that would provide decent access behind the stereo. The panels appear to have four white screw caps. Before I try removing the wrong thing, I figured I'd ask what the "right" way to get access to this area is. Thanks!

Before you plow into panels and wiring, are you absolutely certain the issue isn't with zone settings? On our R27, we couldn't get zones to respond right on the stereo itself, but by fiddling around with the media settings on the Garmin we were able to adjust zone volumes. I haven't spent the time to troubleshoot why we couldn't adjust zones on the stereo, probably something simple.

Hello,

You are correct in removing the panels on the inside of the lower cabinet/closet area, once you remove those you can gain access to the backside of the head unit. You may also be able to flip the face of the head unit down, remove the 4 screws holding it in place and slide out to check connections. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Hello,

To adjust the zones individually you want to first with the head unit on and playing music/radio, push the volume knob which will pull up the current zones and volumes, press volume knob again and it will select a individual zone, repeat to access other zones. Hope this helps.

Thank you,
Kevin Lamont

Great, thanks for the info! I'm not personally familiar with the Fusion units, but my buddy has them on several of his boats. We tried everything we could think of, starting with adjusting zone volumes as described on the head unit. I'll poke around the Garmin to check for relevant settings before tracing wires and share if I find something useful.
