Anyone having problems getting the marina icons on the Garmin App? Can't seem to get them to pop up. I get all the blue icons, but no red for the marinas.

Hi Mike,

I do not have any issue with this, all markers are displayed.

Make sure marinas are selected in the Chart Contents ActiveCaptain section. There was also an issue with a Garmin BCM update a few weeks ago, reviews were missing for some users. The fix for the missing reviews is:

1. Log out of ActiveCaptain in the Settings of BlueChart Mobile.
2. Delete the database (you get that choice once you've logged out).
3. Log back in. It'll re-download the database. Give that some time - keep it powered and go have dinner!

FYI… Mike: I'm having no issue like that on my iPhone -- haven't check the iPad for that issue yet mind you. I get the blue, red, pink and orange icons showing up on my iPhone. Howard's advice is good… try that.

What device are you using for the BCM ?

Well I tried doing the removal and download and no joy. I get the active captain overlay on my other programs without a problem. I guess an e-mail to Jeff is in order. Very odd, I get the blue icons, but no marina icons.

Okay, problem resolved. On the bottom right hand side is an icon that looks like a map. When you press that a menu comes up which allows you to choose chart options. Don't know how it happened, but all of the marinas, anchorages and hazards were tuned off. Those damn computer Gremlins were at it again!

Good to hear you got it resolved. Bugs seem to have a life of their own… 😉 Had you done any software updates recently on your BCM device ? On my iPhone, BCM shows a "Settings" cog wheel tab on the bottom right hand side -- not a 'map-like' icon like you mentioned.

I recently traded my iPhone 4S for an iPhone 5 using the Best Buy's free swap of iPhone 4/4S for the iPhone 5 trade in program which ended yesterday I believe. I had backed up my iPhone 4S to the iCloud and my computer prior to the swap and had no problems restoring every thing to the new iPhone 5 which included my BCM application.

I also use Charts&Tides on my 17" MacBookPro8,3 and note that the various coloured Active Captain icon designs are not the same as the ones BCM uses. I prefer the BCM ones personally.

I was referring to my iPad, not I phone so the layouts are different. I think it happened as a result of a Garmin update. Oddly enough I fixed it on the iPad, but It did not sync with the iPhone so I had to set that up as well.

I use the iPhone and I pad
I am now getting pink icons in addition to the red showing up that designate marinas. The pink ones have no info other than their name. The red ones have the info. This is the first time I have seen the pink ones on the Garmin Blue Chart. Where the ,x.?ooxx!! Did they come from?

I agree… the pink icons seem to have suddenly appeared recently… contain just a name as you posted, and the sailboat in the icon seems to have more wind in their sails than the other icons…

Maybe a quick note the ActiveCaptain is in order to gain further info on the pink guys. 😉

As an aside, I'm playing with the latest Charts&Tides v1.1 beta and want to review its latest AIS feature. I don't have AIS but apparently one can feed Charts&Tides from the web…

Here's the snippet from the beta info I received...
"If you have an AIS receiver, please *please* let me know how this works for you. If you do not have an AIS receiver, you can still test this feature by using a public AIS feed, for example the one from http://hd-sf.com/.
