Adding Air Conditioner to R-25 seawater question

I just purchased a 2007 R-25 without AC that I will be adding. I was wondering if the factory just Tee'd off of the engine seacock and strainer or did they put another seacock in exclusively for the A/C. Any information on the factory routing of the cooling hoses etc would be muuuucch appreciated. Glad to be a new Tugnut!

In the 2009 version of the R-25, a separate seacock is installed on the port side bottom for A/C cooling water pickup. The A/C cooling water seacock is placed directly under the rear bulkhead of the cabin. It is about one foot in front of the generator seacock. The water line from the A/C seacock runs across the front of the engine compartment, through an inline strainer bolted to the bulkhead in front of the engine, and it then goes to a pump mounted on the starboard side that circulates the water to the A/C unit. There are two drains installed on the port side of the boat associated with the A/C unit. One is the cooling water discharge and the other is a condensation drain.

I just added a portable AC (8000 BTU) to my 2010 R25 for $299 from Home Depot, a very cheap alternative to the complicated standard model.

I've got it exhausting out the galley scuttle/port hole (perfect 6" friction fit).

It sits on the counter behind the captain's seat (tipped forward), weights about 35 to 40 lbs.

It keeps the vee-berth nice and cool for sleeping.

During the day or under-way, I just open the side windows or a hatch or two.

When not in use I store it in the "cave" (photos available) --- send me your regular email address for forwarding.

I use it on hot nights while in the marina where I have 110 Volt shore power.

I have a 2007 R-25. It has a separate thru hull/sea cock on the starboard side of where the engine is mounted. The filter is bolted to the starboard engine compartment bulkhead. The AC is mounted under the passenger seat (if you take the seat off there is a hole to gain access from the top). There are two thru hulls on the port side next to the passenger seat to let out the cooling water and for draining condensation in the condensation pan.

Let me know if you have any other questions about your R-25. I know it pretty well from bow to stern at this point.

Just a thought
On my 29 ft Sea Ray I had a carry on A/C unit that was made to fit in the vents in the ceiling . Not the prettiest thing but worked well and was easy to handle so I only used it when needed. The advantage was it worked with out being in the water and ran off a 2000 watt generator .. And is made for boats..

2008 R25. Separate sea cock and strainer. Water pump is mounted in engine compartment foward of fuel filter. Lines run up on port side under the cave flooring. Remove the floor panels and the bulkhead plate in very forward part of cave. A/C unit mounts under forward seat.
