I have a 2020 Ranger Tug model 29S NW Edition, that I purchased new when I lived in Gig Harbor. This summer I moved to Washington DC and shipped my boat to the Chesapeake, and am therefore interested in installing AC in my boat. I believe if Ranger sold it with AC today it would come with two Velair units (12k BTU/ and 16k BTU), and a Next Gen generator to power them. However, I think Ranger now sells the next smaller boat (R27) with AC powered by lithium ion batteries and no generator.

I am looking for an optimized solution for my boat. I think I would prefer Lithium Ion battery-powered AC as I assume the noise is less (no generator) but also as I have to change my 5 year old AGM batteries soon anyway, and thinking it might be time for an DC system upgrade including new/higher output solar panel. I am also thinking that I might need only one AC, as I do not anticipate cooling both the main salon and the forward main stateroom at the same time.

Anyone have any experience or advice to share?
