Air conditioning on 2016 Ranger tug

How well does it work? Does it cool adequately and does reverse cycle heat work well?

on our 2013 R-27, the air conditioning works pretty well; kept the admiral happy on a July trip back from Bahamas; although we could have been a little more comfortable had we put up sun shades and/or tinted the hatches and windows.

Sitting tied up at the dock it does well and keeps the cabin cool and de-humidified.

The heat works pretty good as well; when at the dock on shore power, can take off our coats during the winter.

If we were to move to a colder climate, I would consider the diesel heater.

Same as Blue Merle. Our heat works good in reverse cycle as does the AC in heat. However, blocking the windows and hatches when at a slip helps considerable to keep it cooler.

another AC Question - my AC water circulation pump on our R29 seems to run continuously when I have the AC on regardless of where I have the thermostat set. Is this normally the case? I'm concerned about putting to much wear on the pump.

On our RT25SC the A/C cold air comes out close to the floor at the Admiral seat. We find by adding a fan to blow the cold air up the A/C does a good job keeping the cabin comfortable. The reverse cycle heat works great, no fan required.

The pump should only turn on when the AC calls for cooling. Usually the pump kicks in first, then the compressor and fan. In the hot summer months the AC can run quite a bit.

There is a setting in the controller to run or not run the pump when the compressor is off.
