We're headed from Northern Wisconsin this coming May to Puget Sound for a trip to Alaska over the summer in our 2021 R27 OB. We're looking for advice on where to launch our boat and store the truck and trailer for 2 - 3 months. Any local knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Mike and Mary. Lisa and I have launched and stored in Anacortes several times. For launching you have the a few options. At Cap Sante Marine, the City Marina, they have a travel lift fir taking boats off there trailers to launch and retrieve. For a 27’ boat I’m thinking it costs around $125 round trip. I’d also suggest staying at this marina as it is close to everything. Another option is the boat ramp on the west side of the island. The problem with this is you have to have someone shuttle the truck back as another brings the boat around to Cap Sante Marina. North Harbor Diesel is a large marine yard with storage lots. This is who we’ve used for storing our trailer. They do have a ramp that we’ve been able to use before when we’ve stored with them, just need to ask as the ramp is not public. Adjacent to that ramp is a little known public dock that one can tie up to after launch, if needed and or if room. We’ve always left our truck in the gravel lot behind Cap Sante Marina, at no charge but they do not allow trailers and the last time we did this was several 3 years ago so things could have changed.

Bellingham has a couple of launching options. Boat ramp, and two lifts. Pm me for more details. I’ve used a local place called Gotcha Covered for truck and trailer storage.
