Always good to be sure....someone may have missed it. Some of us have to be told more than once.

If yours need replacing, consider going up in size and or number of units. Our yacht club had a demo and we saw how little our minimum extinguishers actually put out.

I just got off of the phone with Kidde regarding one of the two extinguishers we have that falls under this recall. Once verified that my one unit fell under the recall they took my info and stated they'd have a brand new one to me in 7-10 days. It could not have been easier. Don't take a chance, check your extinguishers out and get them replaced if needed.

Awhile back, we checked our extinguishers against the recall list. The two extinguishers that came with the boat were fine. These were both B/C extinguishers (USCG requires B/C and allow A/B/C). We also had on board an A/B/C we purchased one day when we got to thinking that neither fiberglass nor bedding is a class B or C fire. That one turned out to be on the list.

We called Kiddie, and they promised to send a new one and promptly did. But it was a household extinguisher. So we called Kiddie and they promised to send a marine extinguisher and said we could keep the household one for out trouble. They promptly sent a class B/C extinguisher, slightly larger than the ones that came with the boat.

We will keep this one as there is nothing wrong with a larger extinguisher. But we still need an A/B/C extinguisher.
