Hello, we are currently 7 months into our Great Loop adventure on a 2025 Ranger Tug R27, we started from Manistee, MI and wanted to provide a thread for where we have gotten our 350hp Yamaha engine serviced along the way.

Green Turtle Bay, KY: used their travel lift and contacted Q&M Watersports to do a service call on site. They were not an authorized Yamaha mechanic. We found this area of the country to be difficult for Yahama because it is dominated by Mercury dealers. The price was $260 for the lift and $454 for the service. The lift was $9 per foot plus a 3% credit card service charge.

Edgewater Yachts, Pensacola, FL: we purchased our Ranger tug from this dealer and were able to use their trailer/truck to have our service done at Key Marine Center. The service cost $1400. This was our 300 engine hour service, which is why the price was what it was. Edgewater will allow folks to use their trailer for a fee, we are unsure what that fee’s cost.

Fort Myers, FL: we used Fort Myers Marine. This was the best experience we’ve had so far, they used an all purpose trailer to take our boat from a public dock to their shop. It cost $334 in parts, $300 in labor, and $150 for the pickup and drop off.

We anticipate two more services before we are finished, and will post those locations on this thread as we conduct them.

We also have a YouTube channel which follows our Loop, at Salty Mitten Adventures.
