amount of available space for boat name

My R27 rurchase just completed today. Will pickup the vessel in a week. Meanwhile, if someone happens to have at hand the dimensions for the boat name and hailing port at the stern wall.

Need to know how big a vinyl sign I need-to/can make to fit. This will be a temporary sign until a graphic has been designed.

It depends if you have a propane locker on the swim step. Mine does and the name and hailing port is on the locker.

If locker - 27" X 7" above locker hinge for name, 27 "x 3" below locker hinge for hailing port
If no locker - 33" X 14" on transom wall above swim step for both name and port

These are maximum dimensions if the lettering is centered. You may not want to use it all to make it look right.

Is it permissible to place you vessel name and hailing port on the stern quarter. I sort have junked up my swim platform so the transom sort of disappeared. I believe there is a height requirement on the lettering.

We also have the name and hailing port on the bottom of the dinghy so it is visible when the dinghy is on the Davits and tipped up.
