We have always had a digital voltage readout as well as an amp-hour meter. Our 2012 R-29 has neither. Any suggestions for installing or am I missing something?

I installed a Xantrex Link Lite Battery monitor. It works well and I recommend it.
 
And I have used the Victron Energy amp hour and volt meter. I really prefer the install on that as it comes with everything you need other than some heavy gauge wire. You will need to re route grounding on your batteries and make sure the shunt is installed per the instructions. It can get complicated so you might want to consider a marine electrician on this one.
 
I use a Balmar Smartguage - not an Amp meter. but super easy to install

good reviews out there of the Trimetric 2025.
