Welcome to Anacortes. The following are some of the latest offerings that are now available from local vendors:

1) La Conner fuel dock is offering an $.08 discount if you identify your self as a Ranger Tug member. Fuel will also be available at Cap Sante Marina (price to be negotiated). I think there will be enough boat traffic to keep them both busy.

2) The Market (16th -17th Commercial Ave next to Rite Aid) is going to offer a special on Ranger IPA beer to Ranger and Cutwater participants from Cap Sante. They will have a special display and a Ranger banner.

3) For those who would like to attend Church service or mass on Sunday Nita and I will try to help you with transportation (Very Limited).
 
A suggestion to those coming north to the Rendezvous through the Swinomish Channel:

Please be more careful there than I was, and protect your boat and wallet!

I had problems in the section adjoining the Skagit Flats. I thought I was within the markers at all times, but did not enlarge the screen on the chartplotter so that I saw the lines on the chart marking the sides of the channel. I could not believe that I was off course but learned later that I was outside the line in one location, and a rock badly damaged the prop.

When you read that it is not wise to travel there in low water, believe it! Many people successfully use the Swinomish daily with no problem. Many of them likely have good knowledge of the exact route, or are more careful than I was.
