Good morning! We are trying to replace our anchor on our 2023 R27 with a Rocna 10 and have been following the setup on Channel Surfing. The problem we are running into is that Mantus has apparently changed their design on the anchor guard required. They used to offer S, M, or L. Now, only M or L. The new design does not work because the pad does not properly hold the anchor point and is twisting the anchor guard when snug, which puts a lot of pressure on the bow roller. Also, the new design is made for a 1/2” bolt, not the 3/8” bolt that fits the bow roller. (We have tried ordering from second-party retailers that show the correct model in their pictures, but when we receive the product, it’s the new model. Heavy sigh.) Help?
I don’t know how to post pictures here or I would show the difference between the new and old.The old model has an “open v” for the pad. The new model has a small slot instead. I did post the pictures on the TugNuts facebook page-

I had the same problem with my 2021 R27 and the Rocna 10 anchor.
My solution was to replace the Lewmar Bow Roller with the Mantis BR1 Bow Roller.
The Rocna 10 with the Mantis BR1 works great and does not need the anchor guard.

My slip is just a few down from channel surfing. I also recently got the Rocna 10 for my cutwater C-28. I agree the new design is worse. It doesn't have the larger V-shape. My anchor tip misses the anchor guard unless I guide it into position. I emailed Mantus to complain and they asked me for a picture to help explain. When I get a chance I will send them a picture/video.

I got my guard from Fisheries Supply. I noticed on their description of the guard it said it came with a Stoltz industries polyeurathane V-guard. I was able to find the old orange style V-guard searching stoltz, but I'm not quite sure about the size. They make a 3" RP-3 and a 4" 404 version, I measured the width of the Mantus guard insert and it appeared to be about 3.5" on the internal width (about 4 inches if you could the metal width).

The guard Channel Surfing has is black though, Stoltz makes orange ones and maybe black? I'm not sure if they have changed it a couple times. If I can figure out something to order or get Mantus to send me the better one, I'll let you know.
