Has anyone set up their Cutwaters with all chain, HT rode instead of chain and line? I really like all chain and wonder about the extra weight up front? I think with high-Tensile light weight chain, it might be just fine.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that the bow remains high at all times when moving more than hull speed if you are loaded for cruising and that some weight up front would actually be an attribute when moving along at any kind of a clip and irrelevant at gunk holing speeds. The trim tabs are incapable of adequately trimming the boats bow when loaded at speed so might be an actual bonus to have more chain up front.

I don't have a Cutwater, but from what I have read regarding bow high at speed extra weight in the bow shouldn't be all that bad.

Check with the factory, I was told that my Ranger Tug 31's chain locker would not hold more than 100' of chain and 200' of rope rode.
