We are taking our first overnight on our 2015 Ranger Tug 27. We have been sailors all our lives and when we anchor we always tie off the anchor line and thread it through the chock on either side rather than having the strain on the anchor roller. I assume the same would be for the Ranger as well? I usually have a snubber is that pretty much standard as well for the tug?

yes. I use a rolling hitch with a dock line onto a main cleat at the bow.
