I have a 2019 R23 (used in salt water) that has 2 stainless (12"x15") boat trim tabs that do not have anodes on trim tabs. Elsewhere in this forum I read the trim tab manufacturer recommends them on the top on the tabs only. That being the case-I was thinking of using 1/2 of a 2-13/16" Dia Aluminum pancake Trim Tab Anode (R-2A) shown in the BoatZinc.com for top of each side. I was wondering what is used on factory installed trim tabs- or other R23's?
I must add there is no sign of galvanic activity on trim tabs yet- although the anode on the 200 hp Yamaha engine trim tab was completely gone and engine mount anode was 50% deteriorated - 2 seasons in a row. I will probably looking in a galvanic isolator for the boat as another project forthe boat

Our 2018 R23 (bought used about two months ago) has zinc anodes on the trim tabs - top and bottom. I believe they came that way from the factory (the previous owner did not appear to do any mods to the boat).

Those anodes show a little wear, but not much. But like yours, the F200 anode is also nearly gone and the transom anode is also heavily deteriorated. I dont know the maintenance that the previous owner did, so these could be the original anodes. New ones are arriving on Monday so then I will be able to track how long they last. I am also interested to hear if other R23 owners see rapid anode deterioration and if galvanic isolation helps at all.
