Hello fellow Rangers. I’m having all 29 feet of my bottom scrubbed and a fresh coat of anti fouling applied. Yes, a day at the boat spa. Since this is my first re-coat I’m not certain how much product it takes to do a liberal job. Does anyone know how much product will be required?

I have a R29 and do the bottom paint myself every year. I allow a can per coat. I use Petit paint and Petit Prop spray for both the prop and rudder. Both last the year.

Good luck, Leon

I just did my R-27 using Petit Vivid. I put two coats on and used one gallon and one quart. I would say for the 29 you will need two gallons.

I just DIY’d Gemini Gypsy... sanded, rinsed, and applied “almost” 2 coats with one gallon of Pettit Hydrocoat. I had to “stretch” the last of it on second coat.
