Anyone Replace the Kenyon Electric/Alcohol Stove with a Wallas 800T with the 220 blower? I've got an R23 OB and plan to make the switch next month. Anybody have experience with the Wallas 800T? What has been your experience with the installation and/or usage after the install. Any issues with the exhaust system? Looks like it's a pretty tight fit. Also, what size fuel tank did you purchase and where did you mount it. Pictures would be great...

Thanks in advance,

We had a Wallas on our C-Dory and there was one in the R25 when we bought it(used). Though I didn't install either from scratch I did remove/reinstall the one on the CD several times and later removed the one from the R25 and installed it on the CD. It's a pretty straightforward process. Picking a location for the fuel tank that minimizes the run of tubing to the pump is highly recommended. The pump will draw through a long run but it is a real PITA to prime if/when it goes dry for whatever reason.

The combustion fan on the Wallas is marginal which can lead to exhaust backing up into the cabin in high winds. We never actually had it happen to us on the water. Bet we typically left ours running for a couple of hours to dry the cabin while doing our cleaning after haul out. Once in a while we'd forget to shut it down and pulling just a couple of miles at 35mph to a storage lot would fill the cabin with exhaust. Some people mitigate that problem by putting a clamshell vent over the exhaust with the opening angled aft. I never got around to it because we replaced it with a Webasto heater and propane cook top. One thing we did have a problem with was exhaust leaks. Make sure and use high temp RTV to seal the connections in the exhaust line.
