One item i found last summer on the first day out! I noticed that the voltage that my plotter was showing was only 12.8 when this is normally 14.1 or is after a few minutes. I worried about this all day and when anchored tried to figure out what is going on. Note that I would not have noticed this if I did not have my plotter set up to show the voltage.
Did my alternator die? Batteries bad? I checked all my connections and found that the 12 gauge negative line to the ARC was disconnected at the ARC! It is only a spade connection and must have come loose when I reconnected all the negative lines at the batteries. Of course it needs a negative line to work.
So if you are having issues you may want to check this line. The connection is hidden a bit by the cover and you may not notice it!
Hope this helps
