Does anyone know if it’s possible for a Blue Sea 7610 ACR to fail, or has had theirs fail. I recently experienced a near dead starting battery which I felt was not called for. Today in the investigation process I removed my ground cable from the house battery and found I still had house power. Removed the ground from the starting battery and I had no house power, this likely was the cause of my near dead starting battery. I had been running my fridge off the starting battery or partially off the starting battery. However during the investigation process today things started working correctly again. Why I don’t know.

I’m assuming the ACR purpose is to isolate the starting battery from the house load.

I have 2 6 volts in series for house batteries.

Thanks
Dave

Hello Dave,

Any electronic device can fail but I can tell you that it is extremely rare on these. The first thing I would make sure is that your parallel switch isn’t engaged. Also, it sounds like maybe someone has changed around the batteries so be sure they didn’t accidentally misplace a wire.

Hope it is something simple!

Thanks Andrew,

I went back down to the boat an hour ago and took the ground off the house battery for curiosity , nope, still had power to the house. When I left the boat this afternoon after having discovered this issue it was back to working correctly. Take the ground off the house battery and no house power like it has for years.

The green light on the ACR is flashing slowly. I will investigate my master switch in the cupboard but I have been using It the same way for 10 years. That doesn’t mean I was using it correctly of coarse.

Dave
