autopilot problem

I have an R25sc and I have problems with my autopilot tracking a destination accurately, even on flat, windless days. It falls off in one direction then over corrects continuously. It makes it more "antipilot" than autopilot. Anyone else have problems and even better, fixes? The pump is new and the system has been calibrated although I don't know if it was done perfectly. The two compasses vary by less than 10 degrees.

Could be air in the hydraulic lines. There's a check for this. I will try and find the posting that describes this for you and post back.

I agree that having spent the extra brass for Autopilot you sure want it to be working correctly. Hold on and we will get this sorted for you.

Check your rudder gain. This has to be done in dealer mode. If the sensitivity is too high then it keeps bobbing back and forth. I had that problem and once I reduced the sensitivity I am running as straight as an arrow.
