Hi All...
I have a 2018 R31 CB with the Fusion MS-UD755 stereo system. It works fine, but trying to wire up a mini plug to the Auxiliary input led me to a mystery....
When searching the back of the unit, there were 2 RCA audio cables plugged into Aux 1 already... Aux 2 was open, so I was able to easily accomplish what I wanted to by hooking up to that.
But the mystery: What was Aux 1 hooked up to ?? I experimented... not the TV's, not the VHF.. no auxiiary jack anywhere in the boat... I traced the wiring as far as I could, to an unusual adapter under the cabinets behind the helm chair, (had a label on it that simply said " Audio"...)that then ascended up the wiring chase column where I lost it. (Taking off the column cover is in future plans to try to trace, cocktail hour was fast approaching at the time !!). I did take off the Fusion Auxiliary control unit.. nope.. not hooked up to that...
Does anyone, including the Factory Guys... know what Aux 1 input on my Fusion Stereo is hooked up to ??
Much appreciate...
Pete S.

On our 2019 C30, Aux1 is the input from Sirius / XM 53 satellite audio (which is controlled by the chartplotter rather than the Fusion device, which was quite confusing for a long time!) Even if you don't have that, I wonder whether it might be wired for it.

Not sure if this is it, but I have an auxiliary Fusion mini-controller located above where your wire disappeared.

Hello,

I believe AUX 1 is for the additional zone amp we install for the CB so you can have 4 zones. I would make sure all speakers work but you should be fine just putting on AUX 2 led. Also I also believe you were looking at the cabin remote there in the galley for the stereo. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Thanks Kevin and others,
but still not sure why an amp would be wired to an INPUT as opposed to an output....
All of my speakers work fine... and altho the display on the stereo indicates 4 zones, only 3 are active (the flying bridge and rear cockpit speakers are wired together on Zone 3...)
In addition, these wires are not the ones going to the mini controller in the galley...
I do like the theory that it is wiring for an option (possibly Sirius-XM related) that I don't have on my ship....
Anyway, it's just a curiosity, I am happy with the way it all works....
Pete
