Just finished the spring buff and wax of our 2017 C-28’s hull. The blue gelcoat still looks pretty nice after 7 years. Took 4 hours to polish and wax the blue. I spent 8 hours on it in the fall to get it cleaned up as well.
Similar to the eyebrows on our former 2009 R-25 Classic, the worst area of oxidation on the boat is the upper half of the propane locker. I’m going to paint it with AwlGrip in the fall. I’ve done polyester urethane paint jobs on aircraft before and don’t think painting the upper half of the propane locker to be too difficult.
I have been told the blue AwlGrip color is AwlCraft 2000 Midnight Blue F5381 GL, but I am thinking about going with a white to match the exterior of the cabin. Has anyone painted the exterior cabin areas with AwlGrip? What shade of white AwlGrip did you use?
