We have this charger on our 2012 R27. It has been working well - until it wasn't. Overnight it remained in "conditioning" mode when the charge on the house batteries fell below 11 volts. I reset and restarted everything. There are 120 volts AC incoming from shore power, but the charger remains in "conditioning" mode not switching to "charging" and not bringing up the batteries. Any ideas? Thanks.

This could be an issue with the Charger. Before condemning the charger I would try to excite the house battery bank. I don't know the reason for the house battery bank to fall to 100% discharge. Was the boat shore power on and charger on when this happened ? When a battery bank falls below 11 Volts the charger will not detect the battery. The battery bank needs be excited by another 12Volt source. Using the Cross over switch/Parallel switch Engine battery to house battery switch to on will do this. The charger will now charge that bank. If it doesn't switch over to charging mode then you may have an issue with the charger. ProMariner customer technical service is good. Give them a call. Explain the issue you have experienced with a short history of the failure and they will steer you I. the right direction for troubleshooting.https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... vKLx1ENgim

Thanks, I'll try that. But we also have a solar panel that brought the house batteries up to 11.5v then almost to 12 yesterday and the charger still remained in "conditioning" mode. ??

I have run the trouble shooting recommended by ProMariner and had no positive result. I have had the demise of the charger confirmed by a ABYC Certified Marine Electrician. It has been recommended that the new charger should be 50 amps as opposed to the 20 amp unit originally installed. This seems to me to be a bit of over kill, and additionally will not fit in the current location, causing more installation issues. What are your thoughts?
Thanks & Best Regards,

I may be wrong and in need of correction but from what I've read in my own research, the optimal amperage of a battery charger for FLA battery chemistry is about 10 % of the total amperage of the battery bank(s) it will be charging. So a 50 amp charger at that metric would be suited for a 500 amp bank. HTH, Gary

Thanks GF I'll check this out.
