I'm looking for some technical advice on stand alone battery chargers. We have a battery charge on our R27 however I was not able to leave it plugged in during my winter inside heated storage. I disconnect all of our AGM batteries, every cable, every electrical line and labeled each for re-install this spring. So I'm thinking I should retrieve my AGM batteries and bring them home to bring the batteries charge back to full. The batteries have been sitting for three months now and I have three more months before Kismet goes back into the water.....yes it is a long winter. Does anyone have a recommendation on a proper battery charger for what I'm describing wanting to do? or for that matter if I need or should go this route?

I've used a Battery Tender Plus for single batteries in boat, auto and small sla uses with good results.

Even a fully discharged batt will recharge in couple of days.

With 4 batteries and 3 months to work, i'm sure a good rotation can be made.

I have a 29' One suggestion would be a couple of small Solar Panels on top. Two/three small charge controllers for the panels. I live in Islamorada and have that set up and am getting ready to upgrade mine. The other is to pull the batteries (a lot of work) and get a multi-battery Battery Tender Plus. The Charger must be smart. Battery Tender Plus have been used on HD AGM batteries for years. Look at 2 Aurinco Bluewater 10s and 3 Morningstar Sunguards. Luck!

This link takes you to a Cabelas page for Guest chargers. I use one on my boat with three batteries. I plug the boat in when on dry land and the batteries are fully charged when I take the boat out. The larger one (30 amp) which is what I have goes on full charge to the lowest battery in the boat and then when it is charged it goes to trickle. It has not let me down yet.
