On my 2013 R27 there is a fuse on the yellow (negative) cable between the house batteries and the thruster/engine batteries.
Is this fuse for battery short circuit protection between banks?
There are also three yellow wires leaving the fuse block, marked 1+, 1-, 1. What are these wires connected to and for what purpose?
Thanks.

Hello,

Here is a link to the owners manual for the R27, viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1550, it has wiring diagrams in there and you could compare that to what you are describing. However, it sounds like this may have been added after the sale? Are you the original owner?

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply Kevin.
See the attached photo of the fuse.
I am the second owner of this boat. It is possible that the previous owner had this modification added. It does not appear in your schematics.
So far I haven't been able to trace the smaller yellow wires because they disappear into a wire bundle in a sheath.
Thanks,
John

Just a guess, but does your boat have a Battery Monitor? it looks like it could be a shunt for battery monitor. Mine is installed in the Negative cable.

I hope that helps.

The item in your photo is not a fuse. That is a shunt used by a battery monitor to measure current. The small yellow wires run to the battery monitor. This would be an aftermarket item added to the boat.

Thank you. Indeed I do have a monitor. Thanks again for your reply.
