Hi, Are there any battery replacement instructions for a C-302 posted. I have a 2018, the house requires replacement. I have been unable to locate any information as to how to replace the batteries, recommended replacement batteries, and/or tips/tricks for the replacement. I assume that all batteries require replacement as the house has gone bad, but I can't locate any documentations. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to reduce the number of times I have to crawl down there.

Thanks

Steve

To replace the hose batteries in the c302 you need to remove the port cockpit lazarette insert. Typically the easiest way is to lift the fish box handle keeping it locked, then continue to lift the entire hatch plus surround just enough to get your fingers under the lip of the surround. Then lift the whole insert up until the bottom of the fish box clears the deck level, followed by tilting it up on end toward the stern. It can be fully removed by removing the hose from the drain, however I've found just tying a dock line to the stern cleat and wrapping it around and back to the cleat plenty secure and plenty of room to work without needing to remove the hose.

The battery trays should all be attached to a large sheet of starboard with enough slack in the cables to allow it to be slid toward the stern for easy replacement. There are 2-3 long screws going through the starboard into the plywood floor to secure everything, so removing those will allow the whole battery bank to slide for access. (I highly recommend marking the plywood with a permanent marker before moving there assembly so that it can be maneuvered back into place easier and not create duplicate screw holes)

As far as the replacement goes, just take pictures so that you can place the cables back into the correct positions once the new batteries are in.

Thank you for the guidance. This is exactly what I needed. Do you have a battery replacement recommendation? I have received manny suggestions, ranging from Costco marine batteries, Amazon, to only oem batteries. I assume that all the batteries require replacing if the house is bad.

Thank you again for the direction.

Steve
