Hi,

So I recently completed my solar upgrade from the standard 140w to a 340W panel and a 100/30mppt victron controller.
I also installed a battery sense module which tells me the volts and temp at the battery so any voltage drop caused by cable loss is negated - this is the biggest issue with controllers is they dont bulk charge the battery to the correct voltage.

The controller is excellent and over bluetooth I get a bunch of config and data.

Now the question

I have the universal AGM's which have very limited specs online. this is only one I can find.
https://www.solar-electric.com/lib/wind-sun/D5751.pdf

this document says a "cycle use control voltage" of 14.6-14.8volts. I am taking this to mean that they want bulk charge to between 14.6 to 14.8volts. which is pretty high

I can configure my new victron with this charging profile. before I do, does anyone have better specs for these universal batteries?

Call Battery Systems, they are the dealers for the batteries and might be able to point you to more detailed specs.

Gavin,

I would just set the solar battery charge profile to be similar to the AGM profile currently used by your shore power battery charger. The time spent on the solar charger alone will be small compared to the time on shore power. I assume your batteries have seen the shore power battery profile for some time and that you have not had problems with it. Changing the profile on the solar charger only would have little to no effect. I suppose you could customize them both if you get more detailed specs.
