HI:
We were told by a few people and online that many marinas do not want you to have propane or charcoal BBQ's. We have an electric BBQ on the cockpit but we would rather have the other.
Let us know. Thanks

I have never had any marina in the Puget Sound area say anything about a gas or charcoal grill in the boat cockpit. On the other hand, I have many times had marinas say they would not allow gas BBQ's or firepits on the docks themselves when boating with a group of others.

Cheers,
Mark

I understand many (all?) marinas do not want portable grills placed on marina decks or tables for fire safety reasons.
Never heard of a marina prohibiting the possession or use of small propane grills mounted in your boat’s cockpit. I imagine there are roughly two bazillion boats with cockpit mounted propane grills in Washington state alone.
Can’t speak to cockpit mounted charcoal grills.

Grills are not prohibited at my marina(s) but as I have been told, If you are going to be grilling.... take the boat out and anchor away from the marina.

Good advice, I'd say. Just go to youtube for marina fire videos.

At my club and where I have visited. the rule has always been "No BBQ on the docks" But you can on your boat. That reasonable.
