We are taking delivery soon of our Ranger 31CB and want to get bed linens for the master cabin and other below deck cabin. I have looked at the linens from the company that is used quite a bit and recommended by ranger. however I find $1500 for one set of linens expensive. I want to know what is your experience? is there another company that does good linens for the ranger and are they as expensive? Also is it worth the $1500 for the bed linens for one bedroom? I am curious what is every one else's experience?

It took me all of one evening to cut and sew a king size matress pad and fitted sheet to fit the Vberth of our R27. Fits good and looks good. I know the R31 is an odd size walk-around bed (BOY am I envious of that!), but I've got to believe it would be as simple if not simpler than a Vberth. I know that Yachtbedding stuff is very nice, but I can't imagine paying that price for something so simple.

My wife also made our bedding. Using the mattress as a template I cut a foam topper from Bed Bath and Beyond to the right shape, then she used that as a template to cut and resew a mattress pad and fitted sheet. We use an unmodified top sheet and blanket.

The YachtBedding sets are expensive although IMO are comparable to the cost of excellent mattresses and custom linens generally. The admiral says the mattress with topper is better than our (more expensive) one at home. I would get them again.

I would assume that the cost is mostly for quality with regards to the mattress, and labor for the sheets. But if someone has time to engage in the labor, then it would be possible to save, and maybe even fun.

Hi

We were also shocked by the cost of custom sheets for our C30. We have used King size cotton jersey sheets from Target on our prior boats as well as our C30. They are very streaky and conform to the odd shapes of the mattress. They cost about 40 dollars and come in lots of colors and patterns. I would try a set first before you have a custom set made.

As others have said the topper is the most important upgrade. We purchased a 2” king latex slab and a 2” gel memory foam slab from amazon. We made a pattern and cut the foams with an electric carving knife. We had an Upholstry shop make a
Cover for the two combined slabs ( latex on bottom) and the bed is now incredibly comfortable. We just put the sheets over the 4” topper and it’s so easy to make the bed and everything stays in place.

Good luck.
