Question for all the seasoned vets.

We like to take weekend trips to the San Juans; we’re usually short on time being that we work full time.

Rather than make the trek from Everett on the water (about 9 hours), we trailer up to Anacortes and launch via their sling. We’re in a 21 so we cruise at about 6.5 knots. Trailing part of the way saves time.

I’m wondering if there’s a better launch that’s maybe closer to SJI, and less expensive than the sling launch at Anacortes. I’ve heard mixed reviews of the Washington Park boat launch. I’ve heard Cornet Bay is an option, but then I have to time the tides through deception pass, and I don’t think it’s closer than Anacortes, really.

All of my research suggests that the sling launch at Anacortes is my best bet, but I figured I’d ask here and see what y’all say.

Thanks!

Skyline Marina has a sling launch and it's closer to the SJI's. We've never used it so not sure how much it costs.

The worst launch ramp is Twin Bridges, the currents are ripping and I've heard of break-ins in the past.

Despite the cost, I would probably stay with the Cap Sante sling launch. Good luck in your search.

Washington Park in Anacortes has a boat ramp, but it's exposed, so only good in calm weather conditions, and watching for wakes from passing ferries, tankers, etc.
Still, lots of people use it. I used it a few times with my previous boat, which I trailered up from Everett.
