Is it advisable to use the center platform in the large stern bilge compartment for storage of large items such as an inflatable dinghy and its outboard motor? I suppose it can get musty in there but otherwise seems ok. These objects are too large for the port and starboard storage lockers. Please see picture for illustration of the motor placed there.

I store my portable generator, Magma grill, and fenders in there. It's a great space and very accessible. Since I'm in it constantly, moisture doesn't seem to be a problem.

You only need to be careful about breaking the strainer baskets for the a/c, washdown pump, head, etc… that will sink your boat.

I have stored our Takacat dinghy and ePropulsion motor in there underway. Aside from a little added rear weight, I don’t see a downside.

Good point, for sure something to be careful about. But in the event a strainer is damaged you can always shut the inlet valve off.

We store quite a lot of gear there including a magma grill, and have not had any issues with moisture.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I will indeed watch out for the strainer basket. The top one is protruding upward and does present an obstacle. Would be nice to reverse its mounting so that it is below the plane of the storage area.
