Every once in a while, when it rains hard the bilge pump is overwhelmed and the pilothouse gets flooded. Some have suggested that I remove the boat plug when I return home, A PAIN! Again, this doesn't happen often, but when it does trouble. My driveway is slightly slopped downward, so the water migrates to the pilothouse. I could raise the hitch up, but that would raise it too high for my comfort.

Any ideas how to combat this problem.

Thanks

Mark

Mark, To remove the "pain" of removing the plug upon getting home I purchased a long extension for my ratchet and socket. It was easy to stand to the side and remove and install the plug. With this you do not have to rely on the bilge pump when cleaning the tug or with rain. I also enjoy having a boat ready to go on a moments notice but sometimes the simpler the fix, the better it is. A chain for the plug to the trailer strap is a great reminder not to launch the boat without the plug in.

Or, you could back in the driveway so the boat   was sloped the other direction.
