Bilge pumps when stored out of water.

New owners of an R27OB that we trailer for now. It is stored inside. Do you pull the bilge fuses or just let them look for water every 2.5 minutes?
 
I pull the fuses whenever the boat is on the trailer. Drain plug removal does the trick when she is on the trailer.
 
When I got my R27ob one of the bilge pumps did not work on automatic and the other one spun up every 150 seconds to test for water. The sound drove me crazy. I disconnected power to the automatic lead on the pumps and installed float switches. The switch on the dash will still turn them on manually. I mounted the rear float as low as I could get it so that it will draw down as much as possible. They work great now and no noise.
