I have, as many of you have, 5 supporting pipes/railings keeping the Bimini in place, 10 counting both sides.
From your experience, has anyone removed some of these "nuisance obstructing" supports to improve the cockpit views without hindering the ultimate support of the Bimini? How often does one want to go through the effort of folding the darn thing up and later unfolding it, not many I suspect?
I'm at a point where I might trash this Bimini and install a canvas cockpit cover with only two vertical supports at the rear of the cockpit with a double horizontal (4" apart) on port and starboard side.
I'm good at taking things apart, but if I have to put it back together again, I generally do this rather badly.
Bottom-line: Can any of these 10 supporting structures be removed with out collapsing or weakening the entire Bimini?
