Black smoke & soot in wet exhaust at high RPM

Our factory equiped 2007 Ranger 21EC with a 3YM30 engine spews black smoke and soot out the wet exhaust outlet at high RPM. It has done this since day one. The exhaust is not oily (thank goodness). Any suggestions?
 
I suggest a valve adjustment and contacting a Yanmar service center in your area. You can go to yanmarmarine.com to find a list of service centers.
