We are new owners of a 2012 C-28 and I am getting familiar with all the new systems. One question I have is the setting of the discharge Y-valve on the blackwater tank. The former owner emptied the tank but I don't know how and I have no idea which setting I should lock it into to prevent overboard discharge - I live and cruise on Chesapeake Bay. I have taken photos. Cpu;d up please tell me if the valve should be in position A or position B to shutoff overboard discharge.View attachment 20240730_131203.jpg

Position A

Position B

The Y-valve handle in position A is for “Pumpout” and where you want it to be. The handle end labeled “Jabsco” needs to be rotated a little farther to the right so the hole in the flange at the opposite end of the handle aligns with a corresponding hole in the Y-Valve body. Secure it in that position with a Ty-wrap through the two aligned holes.

Position B is for “Overboard Discharge.”
