Blocking EZ Loader Triple Axle Trailer

I plan to keep our boat on the trailer for a longer-term storage period. I understand it’s a good idea to block up the trailer to take the strain off the suspension system and deters tire rot and flat-spotting.

Has anyone talked to EZ Loader as to the proper way to do this? Specifically, if I use appropriately sized car jack stands, do I place them on the trailer frame or under each axle?

May be going further than you are thinking....

Place a large plastic sheet (or something like plastic) under each tire to prevent leaching of moisture into the braking mechanism. Rust and corrosion WILL migrate into that area unless you put a "block" between the soil and the brake area.

Good idea, but I do not know about relieving the tension on the springs.

I put my 29 on the trailer every winter. 6 years now. I do nothing but park it and all is good. Kept indoors on concrete.

Either will work. Clearly both the axles and the frame are designed to handle the share of the load. Simply due to the height of the stands when I put mine on stands I typically place them under the frame as close as possible to where the axles attach. That keeps the load on the frame as close as possible to the loading it experiences when supported on the wheels. There's no issue with the suspension "taking a set" if you elect to support it under the axles. By definition springs only experience permanent deformation if they are overloaded. Time under load is not relevant. After all 99 percent of trailers spend the entire life on the wheels. There is no load difference whether on wheels or supported with stands under the axles. Springs see the same load.

FYI - I received the following from EZ Loader today in response to my question - “Jack stands under that axles where they bolt to the frame would be the best solution if he feels he needs to take the load off of the axles. We take no position one way or the other about sitting for long periods of time”.
