I have a 2018 R-23 and love the boat. I have AC and a Westerbeke gas generator that were factory installed. Living in Florida and especially this time of the year, AC while underway is wonderful. I understand running the blowers for at least four minutes prior to starting the generator is very important along with personally opening the hatch and sniff for gas flumes is a safety-first rule. (I agree and do this every time) My question is should I keep the blowers running while underway? Quite frankly the blowers make more noise than the generator and outboard combined and I'd like to turn them off if it is a safe practice. Thanks in advance for any and all comments on this subject.

Not sure about the R23, but most boats have air intakes that move enough air while underway to remove gas fumes.

The inboard Tugs and Cuts have no ventilation vents, random openings around the cockpit is how air gets into the compartment. The engine is the only source of venting air out. I assume the gas powered Tugs and Cuts are well ventilated,(ABYC requires this) using a conventional marine vent system, allowing outside air into the compartment and compartment air out thru ventilators mounted on the outside of the hull (Incoming air and out going air) . If so you should be able to run with natural ventilation. If Fluid Motion doesn't use a conventional marine ventilation system I would run the blower all the time.
