Bluechart regions for Canada

We are thinking about traveling the Rideau canal. The US Bluechart Mobile covers part of it.

Does Bluechart North America cover the Rideau to Ottawa?

It seems to me that the Garmin Bluechart G2 Vision HD St. Lawrence Seaway Chart - VUS020R covers what you need.

Baz, I can’t find that chart for BlueChart mobile. I’ll keep looking.

However, I just noticed you're after maps for the BlueChart Mobile App.... thus it seems all you have available for that App is the "North America v2017.0" for $44.99 and I cannot say if that is what you want and that it covers the area you're interested in.

These are in sd card format and won’t work on Bluechart mobile on my iPad. They will work on bliechart Home or my Boat based gps.

Garmin doesn’t work well with Garmin mobile. Oh well

Stu, I just checked out my Garmin Blue Charts on my ipad and I get all the info you are looking for. Not sure why you are not seeing it.

I'm not sure either - part of the Canal shows up and part doesn't.

Guess I'll take my Ipad to the upcoming Ft. Lauderdale boat show and ask Garmin.

Are you zooming in close enough? Sometimes detail is lost until you zoom in closer. Just a thought.

The shot show adequate detail for part of the Canal, but nothing for the northern end. My assumption is the northern end is excluded because it is in Canada.

Unfortunately the Canadian charts show the same area excluded, I think.

interesting. Mine is not blocked. You may not have downloaded those sections. Go to settings>BlueChart Maps and tap the chart you downloaded there are blocks for different areas. You need to tap a section you want download to get the info. This takes up memory space so hopefully you have enough to download what you need.

It is interesting. When I download charts, that sector has only 1/4 of the square available - the other 3/4 are blacked out. I don't think it is an accident or bug - they just want the $44 for the extra 2 miles. I'll pay it if they can convince me the catalog of charts is wrong and the sector is missing on the US portion but not the Canada portion.
