Has anyone ever had a boat cover made for their Ranger? I winter mine in the backyard and I have had it shrink wrapped once. We get a lot of snow here in Spokane and I am sure a lightweight cover would tear and fail. Has anyone had any experience in this area with their R-21.

Thanks

Mark

Mark, If you come up with a good solution I would be interested also. With the hard cockpit top I thought a cover would be too heavy and awkard that I could not get it on or off. Always something to look at though.

Mark,
I've had a cover made for my R21ec. Its not a winter cover but, for here in Ontario, a pretty good 3 season cover and good for inside storage during the winter. We have to take the mast down when it's on and we cover the spotlight with a modified 5 gallon pail so it won't get damaged. Environmentally, it seems a better solution to shrinkwrapping every year. It's a similar fabric to sunbrella, but I believe slightly lighter. It's done in 2 pieces and zips up from both ends down the centerline of the boat. It looks behemoth with it on, though. I think if it's going to be outside, shrinkwrap makes the most sense because the snow will slide off much easier than on a rough canvas type fabric. Just my opinion.
Sorry, no pictures yet.

Cheers,

Gregg
