I am getting boat insurance quotes at the moment and wanted to hear from the Canadians. Where is your Tug insured?

I've received a quote from Dolphin Insurance who was recommended by Port Boathouse. Any others I should contact?

Thanks!

Kim

I use Premier Marine.

I use Western Financial Group and pay $620.00 for my R21-EC.

I use Pacific Marine, $1320/year for a Rosborough insured for $100,000.

We are from Comox, BC and have a 2017 R29CB insured through Dolphin

Sorry forgot to mention that many boat owners in Comox go through Waypoint and seem happy.

Hello Canadian Ranger Tugs Owners,

We're planning to buy a slightly used Rangers Tug R-29S or R-31S, and would welcome any information or advice on boat insurance in Canada [British Columbia West Coast to be exact] for larger sized Rangers Tugs. We have limited experience [2 years] on a smaller 24' boat, and have heard that could hurt us on our premiums.

As experience seems to matter, it would be great to hear if there are particular courses [ie: Power Squadron] or actions that can be taken [spending time with another Ranger Tugs owner] for a novice boater to reduce those premiums. Also, if anyone is willing to share their premiums to give us an idea what to expect, please do 🙂

Cheers!

I am in Duncan and use Pacific Marine for our R25sc. I used to use Premier for a smaller 18’ boat but found this company was better suited for this one. Look carefully into the operating area allowed especially if you are talking the West Coast. Premier had zones and it was quite a premium to add the outside waters past Owen Point. Pacific offers Coastwide coverage.

Also use Pacific Marine. We get great service through Harbord in Sidney.
