Hey guys, I am wondering how many set of keys did you get when you got your tug?
When I bought my used 21ec this summer there was only one set. Is there a spare set available?

Extra ignition keys are available via Yanmar.

Try these guys....http://toadmarinesupply.com/ They were a couple of bucks cheaper than ordering through my Yanmar dealer and delivery was quick.

Hello REO,

Yes, my experience too is that TOAD is cheaper, sometimes MUCH cheaper than "my" Yanmar distributer. You must not have had TOAD ship to California. I was all set to order from them when their 'service are' note popped up on screen; that is, they can ship to ONLY the states (or territory) allowed by Yanmar. So I called my territory Yanmar dealer, had to call since no internet sales presence, and pay higher prices for consumables. Hence my search for Johnson branded impellers ($18-20 INCL the 'O' ring) where Yanmar wanted $25-30 for the impeller plus $5 for the o-ring (for my Yanmar 3YM30).

Does Volvo have sales 'territories' when it comes to buying parts?

Dave...The keys came directly to my mailbox at home. You're right about the area limitations. I think the way Toad was able to do that is that the keys aren't branded Yanmar keys but just a generic copy. No Yanmar label, just a key...but they fit and work properly. Same quality as far as I can tell.
Our local Yanmar dealer estimated shipping time at two weeks because they wait until they have a large order before they send for parts. If I wanted quicker service it would have been expensive. Toad had the keys in my hand in three days.
I sure wish I could order other Yanmar stuff from them. So far I like the little Yanmar engine but I'm sure not fond of their prices.
